Casey Chaos, frontman of the punk rock band Amen, has died at the age of 54. His passing was confirmed on December 21 by Cleopatra Records founder Brian Perera, as well as Chaos’ friends, musician Skum Love and photographer Dean Karr.

Amen bassist John Fahnestock shared his grief in a post, saying, “With a heavy heart and a tear in my eye I must announce that we lost another legend today. I’ve lost two legendary frontmen in my career and Casey has now also passed on. It’s was an absolute honor to have been in Amen and witnessed without a doubt the genius that was Casey Chaos.”

“He was a force unlike no other before him, a true artist, an uncompromising soul and a true punk rock icon! This is hard for me. I sit here going over all the memories. Just speechless,” he added.

Slayer’s Gary Holt also shared his sadness in another post. “Sad day, just found out Casey Chaos has passed away, along with Oakland A’s legend and baseball hall of famer Ricky Henderson. When Dave Lombardo and I did the Beloved Ghouls side project Casey was the vocalist and co writer of them, powers that be wanted other singers. No knock on them but the tracks with Casey ruled. Hard. He will be missed. Ricky was and always will be the greatest lead off hitter in MLB history.”

Throughout his career, Casey Chaos collaborated with artists like System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, Scum, and Christian Death.

Amen was formed in Los Angeles in 1994 and reached its peak with the 2000 album ‘We Have Come for Your Parents,’ produced by Ross Robinson.
