Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti recently opened up about his upcoming projects during an appearance on Guitar Autopsy and announced a brand new ‘top-secret’ project which is going to be for charity and Tremonti will challenge other musicians to do the exact same thing once it comes out.
As many of you know, Mark Tremonti is often regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal guitarists of all time since the early year of his music career started with Creed, followed by Alter Bridge, and Tremonti all of which created monumental albums and legendary tracks which was created with the contribution os Mark himself, receiving a number of accolades, including a Grammy Award for the Creed’s song, ‘With Arms Wide Open.’
For the past few years, the legendary guitarist Mark Tremonti has been recording studio albums non-stop with Tremonti’s fourth studio album, ‘A Dying Machine‘ released on June 8, 2018, followed by Alter Bridge’s sixth studio album, ‘Walk the Sky,’ released on October 18, 2019, as well as working on the upcoming album of Tremonti named ‘Marchin In Time’ which is supposedly going to be released this year.
While his plate is already filled with many projects, Alter Bridge guitarist announced another exciting project of his during a recent interview and stated that it’s going to be something fun related to a charity that will encourage other musicians to do the same, just like a challenge.
Furthermore, Tremonti revealed that his fans aren’t going to see him playing the guitar, however, will hear him singing a song in collaboration with other musicians such as one of the fastest guitarists in the United States, Rusty Cooley both of which will step out of their comfort zone and do a completely different project.
Here is what Tremonti said:
“I’m trying to work on this project, it’s kind of a top-secret fun project, it’s going to be for charity. And I’m going to challenge other people to do the same thing but I’m going to try to tackle something that nobody would ever expect me to do. And then challenge other people to do it in the name of charity.
We got Rusty Cooley who everybody thinks of as this hard-rock-heavy-metal badass shredding-guitar player who also comes out with his love for Cyndi Lauper, and he does a cover of his Cyndi Lauper favorite tunes. Something along the lines of that. I’m going to do it for charity, I’m going to try and do it with some of the original musicians from where this came from, and I’m very excited about it because I’m a massive fan of this person that I’m trying to emulate. I’m not going to have a guitar in my hand either, I’m just singing. The other musicians are going to be incredible.”
