DragonForce has officially announced former Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White Gluz as their new frontwoman, marking a significant milestone for the power metal band as reported by Instagram.
The band shared their excitement about welcoming their first female lead singer. Upcoming live performances are scheduled to showcase this new lineup.
“DragonForce officially welcomes Alissa White Gluz as the band’s newest member and first frontwoman,” the band announced. “The first live shows with Alissa kick off in the USA on May 9 at Welcome To Rockville, and May 17 at Sonic Temple as we celebrate 20 years of Inhuman Rampage. More tours and new music will be announced soon, stay tuned!”
DragonForce guitarist Herman Li expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration and its impact on the band’s creative direction.
“The addition of White-Gluz is an expansion of everything we’ve done up to this point,” Li said. “Together we will honor what made Inhuman Rampage matter, while showing people exactly where we’re going next. Having Alissa in the room changes everything. She doesn’t just sing; she makes all aspects of our music better. And she sounds incredible live! I can’t wait for the fans to see her and hear what we have been working on.”
White Gluz also shared her perspective on joining the renowned power metal band and her excitement about the musical opportunities ahead.
“It feels great to showcase all the colors of my voice and utilize all my singing styles in technically challenging, deeply energizing, highly addictive songs,” White Gluz said. “I am so thankful for the amazing support I have been lucky enough to receive from the metal world over this wild career I’ve built; I want to keep pushing my boundaries and delivering exceptional music and live experiences to the fans that I cherish so much.”
This collaboration between White Gluz and DragonForce represents more than just a new partnership. The two parties have previously worked together and share a history that makes this announcement particularly meaningful for fans of both artists.
Louder Sound reported that White Gluz has prior collaboration experience with DragonForce. She provided co-lead vocals on an alternative version of “Burning Heart” from their 2024 album Warp Speed Warriors. This previous work together likely contributed to the natural chemistry that led to her joining the band as a permanent member.
The timing of White Gluz’s addition to DragonForce coincides with her recent departure from Arch Enemy and the launch of her solo career. Wikipedia noted that she announced her Arch Enemy departure on November 23, 2025. She released her solo single “The Room Where She Died” the same day, with a debut solo album planned for 2026. This transition period has allowed her to explore new musical directions while maintaining her presence in the metal scene.
DragonForce and White Gluz are planning special commemorative content as part of their celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark album Inhuman Rampage. Kerrang! revealed that the band is teasing a new cover version of their signature hit “Through the Fire and Flames” featuring White Gluz’s vocals. This updated version of their most recognizable song will likely serve as a bridge between the band’s established legacy and their new chapter with White Gluz.
White Gluz joins DragonForce alongside existing singer Marc Hudson. This makes her the band’s first frontwoman and third vocalist overall in their history. This dual-vocalist approach opens new creative possibilities for the power metal veterans as they continue to evolve their sound while honoring their technical prowess and melodic sensibilities that have defined their career.
The announcement marks a new chapter for both DragonForce and White Gluz following her departure from Arch Enemy.
