Aerosmith’s Joe Perry Says He’s In A Secret Recording Session For An ‘Iconic Friend’

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry shared a post on his Instagram to reveal to the fans that he is in the studio for a secret session to record a song he made for an iconic friend.

Joe Perry is mainly known as the founding member, lead guitarist, and occasional vocalist of Aerosmith, but he has also embarked on other musical projects. Perry has his solo band named The Joe Perry Project and is a member of the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. Perry formed The Joe Perry Project back in 1979 when Aerosmith was in decline, and he had departed from the band.

However, Perry didn’t release any material for a long time after their 1983 album, ‘Once A Rocker, Always A Rocker.’ On the other hand, although the Hollywood Vampires had considered making a new album in the future, their latest musical effort dates back to 2019, the time when they were active in the scene. The case is the same with Aerosmith as they haven’t announced a new release, although their sixteenth album was rumored to come out in 2019.

Therefore, it can be said that Joe Perry fans have been very eager to hear some new material from the musician for quite a long time. In a recent Instagram post, the guitarist excited them by revealing that he is recording a song that he will dedicate to an iconic friend. His photo was from the studio, and the tech behind Joe Perry proved that they were indeed in a secret studio session working on new material.

Joe Perry’s Instagram post read:

“Laying down the guitar track during a super-secret recording session last night for an iconic friend! Can’t wait to share the song!”
