Aerosmith have shared new photos from their rehearsals ahead of upcoming comeback shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and the images confirm that original drummer Joey Kramer is back in the band, posted on Facebook.
The band released the rehearsal pictures as they prepare for the pair of performances next week. The photos show Kramer back behind the kit with his bandmates.
“The Bad Boys from Boston are back. Who’s coming to the Hollywood Bowl next week?” Aerosmith wrote on the social media platform.
Fans responded with enthusiasm to Kramer’s return. One follower wrote, “Yes! Joey Kramer is back where he belongs! I knew they couldn’t rap things up without him behind the kit.”
Another fan added, “Great to see Joey Kramer back as it should be. One of rocks most underrated drummers ever!”
The rehearsal photos mark the first public confirmation that Kramer will join the band for the Hollywood Bowl shows. Kramer’s appearance at these comeback performances brings the classic lineup back together.
Kramer had not played with the band since their Deuces Are Wild residency in Las Vegas ended in early 2020. The drummer had faced a difficult path to return, including a lawsuit he filed against his bandmates in 2020 over his exclusion from the group. Some members of Aerosmith had insisted that Kramer demonstrate he was able to play at an appropriate level before rejoining.
Aerosmith themselves had not performed live since abandoning their Peace Out Farewell Tour in September 2023, after lead singer Steven Tyler suffered vocal cord damage. In June 2025, guitarist Joe Perry spoke about the chances of the band reconvening, saying “We’re talking about it” and “I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig.”
The Hollywood Bowl performances mark Kramer’s first shows with Aerosmith since February 2020, completing the classic five-member lineup for the first time in more than six years. The comeback also reunites the band after nearly three years away from the stage.
