The singer’s vocal cords are in good shape as the group gears up for its return. An insider said Tyler is ready to hit the high notes as the legendary rock band prepares for two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles — its first full shows since scrapping its farewell tour in 2024 due to Tyler’s vocal injury.

Tyler, 78, is excited not only to get back on stage, but to share it with his famous friends in the industry, the insider said. The singer has been taking good care of his voice since the canceled tour, including plenty of rehab and rest.

That enthusiasm comes with a long road behind it. The band’s return follows years of uncertainty about whether Tyler could perform at full strength again.

The shows are set for Oct. 29 and Nov. 1, 2026. Billed as “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” a nod to the band’s early-’70s hit “Dream On,” the concerts were announced on Oct. 7, a day after Tyler appeared in a teaser video filmed at the venue.

The guest list is long. The Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Heart, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Duff McKagan and Tom Morello are all scheduled to join the band. Other names include Chad Smith, Eric Church, Jerry Cantrell, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Monahan and Steve Stevens. Andrew Watt, Marcus King, Mike Inez, Sully Erna, Adam Wakeman, Audley Freed, Don Was and Kenny Aronoff are also on the bill.

The injury behind the band’s long absence was serious. Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury in 2023, and Aerosmith first postponed its “Peace Out” farewell tour dates, planning to resume later in 2024, before ultimately canceling the tour. Two years after the band said it was retiring from the road, the Hollywood Bowl dates mark a major comeback — its first full concerts in more than three years.
