Following the final curtain call for KISS at Madison Square Garden on December 2, Ace Frehley sat down with Classic Rock and shared his top pick for portraying him in his biopic, expressing a keen interest in Ezra Miller for the role.

The guitarist shared his vision for the movie about his life, pointing to Miller, known for his role as ‘The Flash,’ as the ideal actor to step into his boots. He said:

“If there was gonna be an Ace Frehley movie, my first choice would be the kid that plays ‘The Flash’ [Ezra Miller]. Can you imagine him with my hair? His eyes are very similar to mine. He’s crazy as well.”

A KISS Biopic In The Making

While a movie about his life is nowhere in sight, The KISS biopic, ‘Shout It Out Loud,’ is set to highlight the band’s formative years with Netflix nearing a deal to bring the story to screens in 2024. The film promises an intimate look at the band’s early days, with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley playing pivotal roles in its production to ensure authenticity. The announcement of the biopic was followed by a two-part documentary, ‘Biography: Kisstory.’

While the biopic’s casting details remain under wraps, Stanley previously discussed the challenges of selecting actors to represent KISS’s members during their youth. With the film focusing on the band’s inception and rise to fame in the early ’70s, finding actors in their early 20s to accurately portray the rock icons is a priority. He told Download:

“For casting to be accurate in terms of age, we are looking at actors in their early 20s. Honestly, I don’t know a whole lot of actors in their early 20s. When people get asked these kinds of questions, they’ll say, ‘Oh, Brad Pitt,’ or this one or that one. Well, those guys are in their 50s or 60s, so you’re talking about another generation of actors. And I’m the first to say I’m not up on a lot of them.”

‘Shout It Out Loud’ is gearing up to be a collaborative effort among industry heavyweights, including Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment and Universal Music Group. The production team boasts names such as Courtney Solomon, David Blackman, Jody Gerson, and Doc McGhee.
