A Baby Is Born During A Metallica Concert

A baby took his first breath during a Metallica concert on May 7 in Curitiba, Brazil, and now his mother has an epic birth story to tell.

Metallica embarked on their six-date South American tour on April 27, 2022, in Santiago, Chile. Following their shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 30 and in Porto Allegre, Brazil, on May 5, the band recently visited Curitiba, Brazil, on May 7.

The concert took place at the Estádio Couto Pereira, and tattoo artist Joice M. Figueiró was also there despite being 39 weeks pregnant. She watched the show from the disabled section of the stadium, and things were going pretty well while Ego Kill Talent and Greta Van Fleet were on stage.

However, Joice began having contractions when Metallica came onto the stage and started performing. Her water broke while she was being taken to the outpatient clinic, and there was no time for her to get to the hospital.

Before she knew it, Joice’s son Luan Figueiró came into the world and took his first breath while Metallica played the song ‘Enter Sandman,’ the final track of their set. Following the show, Metallica shared the hilarious incident with the fans by reposting Joice’s IG story.

Joice M. Figueiró’s Instagram story read:

“As I am receiving a lot of messages and I will not be able to answer all of them, I will summarize what happened. I went to the Metallica show, and we stayed in the [disabled] area. I sat the whole time without making any effort — I was well. I tried to get as much rest as I could for this show.

[During] the opening [shows of] Ego Kill Talent and Greta Van Fleet, I was good. But when Metallica [took to the stage], [I started having] contractions. Everything [was] very fast, [and] when about three songs [were] left, Jaime called the firemen.

In the middle of the [show, my water broke.] When the doctor said they were going to [take] me by ambulance to maternity, there was no more time — he was born right there in Couto Pereira, to the sound of Metallica.

She then continued:

“Everyone was surprised at what was happening, and everyone who saw me in line with that 39-week pregnant belly thought he would be born in the show. And that’s what happened. I purchased this ticket three years ago, and I would never imagine a thing like that— neither I nor Jaime.

The whole day was very crazy. I’m just writing a book to report everything. The name Lars Ulrich was just a joke, [his name will be] Luan Figueiró. I’m physically great and trying to understand how this happened. Thank you for everyone’s love and concern.”
