Nikki Sixx: ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Was The Inspiration Behind New Mötley Crüe Song

Mötley Crüe has shared a behind-the-scenes video for their most recent track, ‘Dogs Of War.’ In the new video, the band talked about the process of making the song and what inspired it. Apparently, it was the show ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ that inspired the band to create such a song. The bassist Nikki Sixx explained:

“Lyrically what happened is I was watching a Hulu show called ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ and there was this guy that said, ‘Don’t let the bastards get you down.’ It was all these people trying to tear him down, and I just feel like the song a little bit kind of is a song for the underdogs.”

There Are Many Easter Eggs In The Music Video

‘Dogs Of War’ is the first original material Mötley Crüe released since their 2008 album, ‘Saints of Los Angeles.’ The music video of the new release is full of surprises.

Fans have noticed some easter eggs in the music video. Sixx also mentioned the easter eggs in a post on his X account. He wrote:

“Lots and lots of hidden Easter eggs in the new video. Let me know what you see. Takes a few times.”

One of those easter eggs even included haters shown as pigs. In the video, people in pig costumes appeared holding up banners. Some of these banners read things such as ‘Mötley Crüe is devil music,’ and ‘Mötley poo.’ Fans also found out that the church in the video was where Slash played his ‘November Rain’ solo.
