Wolf Van Halen Pays An Emotional Tribute To His Father Eddie On The First Anniversary Of ‘Distance’

Mammoth WVH founder Wolf Van Halen recently shared a post on his official Instagram account to celebrate the anniversary of his first single, ‘Distance,’ which is also a tribute to his father, Eddie Van Halen.
Eddie Van Halen, a very respected and important name for rock music history, passed away on October 6, 2020, after his battle with cancer. After his father’s death, Wolf Van Halen made an announcement to answer fans’ questions about whether the band will continue performing. He said that it is impossible to keep going without Eddie Van Halen, and Van Halen disbanded.
Wolf Van Halen had also joined the band as the bassist to replace Michael Anthony. After Van Halen’s disbandment and Eddie’s death, Wolf formed his own band named Mammoth WVH as a solo project. The band’s debut album was released on June 11, 2021, and it received many positive reviews, praising its musical technicality and distinct sounds.
It is known that Eddie Van Halen always inspired Wolf, and he was very influential in Wolf’s musical career. They had a good and special father-son relationship. In his earlier posts on his social media accounts, Wolf expressed how difficult it has been to deal with his father’s death and expressed that he misses Eddie very much.
In his recent post on Instagram, Wolf shared a photo with his father that he also used in the video clip of ‘Distance.’ He celebrated the song’s first anniversary and stated that it means a lot to him. It is the first release of his band Mammoth WVH and also a tribute his father and the special bond they shared. Wolf thanked all the listeners for their support and flattering comments.
Wolf’s Instagram post read:
“‘Distance’ released a year ago today. It’s a special song for two very important reasons. A song commemorating my Pop and our bond, as well as being the very first Mammoth release. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life in more ways than one.
I never could’ve imagined the overwhelming outpour of responses from something so close to my heart. It blew me away. I just wanted to take this moment to thank you all for listening and for the amazing support you’ve given me and Mammoth this past year. You have no idea how much it means to me. Thank you.
I hope you’re watching, and I hope you’re still proud, Pop. I love and miss you more than you could ever know.”
