Where Izzy Stradlin Really Is, Former Guns N’ Roses Manager Explains

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin has kept a low public profile following his exit from the band. While his current location has been a matter of speculation, ex-manager Vicky Hamilton recently shed some light on the situation during an interview with Appetite for Distortion.

When asked where the guitarist was, Hamilton shared her thoughts by saying:

“I think he’s in Ojai. [It’s] where I think he is. I don’t have any proof of that, but that’s what I’ve heard.”

On the topic of Stradlin potentially creating new music, her response read:

“He should, you know. I’m probably gonna get some sh-t for this, but in my mind, Izzy is the best writer of the band.”

Izzy was not part of the band’s ‘Not In This Lifetime… Tour,’ which marked a significant reunion of the original Guns N’ Roses lineup in 2016. He later stated that his absence was the result of not finding common ground with the other band members, which was confirmed by Slash in a 2022 Classic Rock interview.

During the chat, the band’s guitarist said:

“I haven’t really talked to him since then. There were a lot of different issues that I’m not really going to get into. We wanted it to work out, but we couldn’t seem to meet eye to eye on the whole thing. So it just never happened.”

After his departure, Izzy Stradlin’s involvement with his former bandmates has been rather limited. The guitarist stepped in for a few shows with Guns N’ Roses in 1993, 2006, and 2012. However, he declined the idea of a full-fledged reunion with them.
