During a recent appearance on the Music Universe, the Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil shared his views on the replacement of Mick Mars with John 5.

When the host asked how being on the road with the guitarist has been so far, the vocalist replied:

“John is fantastic. He’s a great guitar player. We could have done the set the next day after we met with him. He already knew all the Mötley songs.”

He continued, speaking of how well John 5 fit in the band:

“It was like the sky is ready to go, and it was just like he fit right in with what we’re doing; there are concepts and stuff. He is really good, and we are happy to get him.”

In a chat with Sirius XM’s Eddie Trunk in May, John had opened up about his relationship with Mars and how the guitarist congratulated him after joining Mötley Crüe. He explained when asked if he and Mick were on good terms:

“Of course… Me and Mick, we talk all the time. We exchange Christmas gifts and things like that, and when I was announced as the guitar player, he was one of the very first texts that I got, and he said, ‘You’re gonna kill it!’ It’s good; it’s not like it’s some stranger coming in. We have great respect for each other.”

The musician is currently on the road with Crüe for the European leg of their World Tour. They will head towards North America in August for more dates. On the other hand, he started the preparations for a new album with the band. You may also want to check out Rob Zombie’s reaction to John 5’s departure here.
