The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has a reputation when it comes to his sexual affairs which allegedly consist of more than 4.000 women and while the number of romantic relationships the legendary singer had cannot compete with his sexual life, Mick Jagger had a number of girlfriends over the years as well each one of which lasted at least for a couple of years. However, the longest relationship he had was with fashion designer L’Wren Scott who tragically committed suicide at the age of 49.

As some of you might know, Mick Jagger and model, fashion designer, and stylist L’Wren Scott met around 2001 and had a relationship as well as a professional relationship since Scott collaborated with Jagger to design his costumes for the Rolling Stones tours including a gorilla coat covered in ostrich feathers, a green jacket named ‘Glamouflage,’ by Scott herself, a black jacket with butterflies, and an embroidered gold jacket inspired by Gustav Klimt.

The famous couple also lived together in numerous cities including London, New York City, France, and Mustique. While their relationship was healthy and seemed to have undeniable longevity, Jagger was deeply shaken when his longtime girlfriend committed suicide. Let’s dig deeper into the tragic ending of their relationship as well as L’Wren Scott’s decision to end her life.

Why Did Mick Jagger’s Girlfriend L’Wren Scott End Her Life?

Unfortunately, famous fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead by her assistant at her apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on March 17, 2014, after a long period of struggling with depression. The police reported that there wasn’t any note left and it was determined that Scott’s cause of death was suicide by hanging.

After finding out that his girlfriend of 13 years ended her life, Mick Jagger shared a statement on his official website and Facebook page, revealing how he feels now that his lover and best friend is gone in the most tragic way possible. While the Rolling Stones frontman didn’t release a long farewell message he simply paid tribute to his girlfriend by stating that she will be remembered for the beautiful years he spent with her.

Here’s what Mick Jagger wrote on his website and on his official Facebook page:

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had a great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her.”

L’Wren Scott left her entire estate which was estimated to be $9 million to her boyfriend Mick Jagger and the legendary vocalist founded the L’Wren Scott scholarship at London’s Central Saint Martins College with the money in order to honor his late lover after her passing.
