As some of you might know, Mick Jagger and model, fashion designer, and stylist L’Wren Scott met around 2001 and had a relationship as well as a professional relationship since Scott collaborated with Jagger to design his costumes for the Rolling Stones tours including a gorilla coat covered in ostrich feathers, a green jacket named ‘Glamouflage,’ by Scott herself, a black jacket with butterflies, and an embroidered gold jacket inspired by Gustav Klimt.
The famous couple also lived together in numerous cities including London, New York City, France, and Mustique. While their relationship was healthy and seemed to have undeniable longevity, Jagger was deeply shaken when his longtime girlfriend committed suicide. Let’s dig deeper into the tragic ending of their relationship as well as L’Wren Scott’s decision to end her life.
Why Did Mick Jagger’s Girlfriend L’Wren Scott End Her Life?
Unfortunately, famous fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead by her assistant at her apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on March 17, 2014, after a long period of struggling with depression. “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had a great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her.”
L’Wren Scott left her entire estate which was estimated to be $9 million to her boyfriend Mick Jagger and the legendary vocalist founded the L’Wren Scott scholarship at London’s Central Saint Martins College with the money in order to honor his late lover after her passing.
