The Only Musician Jon Bon Jovi Regretted Not Meeting

Artists in music, especially the ones from the same genre, often tend to know each other because they are very likely to cross roads at some point in their careers. A lot of musicians even build close friendships with other stars in the industry. They usually get the opportunity to meet their counterparts and the others who inspire them in the beginnings of their musical journeys.

Although we are more used to having many fans who want to meet these famous rock stars, the artists also have some other names they would like to become acquainted with. Yet, they can sometimes fail to catch a break to meet their greatest heroes. Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi also has one regret about not being able to spend some time with one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Who Is The Famous Star Jon Bon Jovi Felt Sorry For Not Meeting?

In his career spanning over four decades, it is not hard to predict that Jon Bon Jovi has had the chance to meet many other stars of the music world. The singer has also collaborated with several prominent artists throughout his career. However, there was still one name with whom Jovi couldn’t get a chance to meet, and he regretted not making it happen.

During an appearance on the Howard Stern Show in 2016, Jon Bon Jovi explained that Frank Sinatra has always been a huge inspiration since he started developing an interest in music. After watching Sinatra, he began copying his style since he admired him so much.

However, the rocker couldn’t get to meet his hero, which is one of his biggest regrets. Jovi also revealed that Sinatra inspired him to write the hit song, ‘It’s My Life.’ The track features the line, ‘Like Frankie said, ‘I did it my way,” referencing Frank Sinatra. As it turns out, the icon’s passing in 1998 had such a devastating impact on the singer that he composed the song, which became an anthem for younger generations.

Here is what Jon Bon Jovi said about Frank Sinatra:

“I emulate a lot of what I do after Frank. I have very, very, very few regrets. I wish I’d met him. That’s the one regret.”

His words about ‘It’s My Life’:

“Frank Sinatra had just died, and I said, it means everything to me because I really, really, finally am old enough to understand Mr. Sinatra. That line became everybody’s buddy, brother, or friend.”
