Nugent continued to receive criticism for his political views in the following years. More recently, in May 2023, the rock star found himself at the center of controversy after the cancellation of one of his concerts. Nugent, scheduled to perform at the Avondale Brewing Co. venue in Alabama as part of his Adios Mofo farewell tour, faced backlash from fans after the announcement of his gig.
The negative reaction was so intense that the venue decided to cancel the performance slated for July 18. In a statement, the venue said:
“We have heard the concerns of the Avondale community, which is so important to us, and in conjunction with our partners, have taken the necessary steps to cancel the Ted Nugent concert scheduled for July 18.”
Nugent’s response to this development was swift. He took to X, retweeted an article about the cancellation, and commented:
“Liars & haters drunk on stupid incapable to debate me.”
Some Other Controversial Stances Of Nugent
This incident is not an isolated one in the singer’s career. Earlier in the year, Nugent urged supporters of Donald Trump to ‘remain peaceful’ in the event of the former President’s arrest over an alleged hush money scheme involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

In April 2023, he criticized Anheuser-Busch for working with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
