While there are people who enjoy watching sports even if they’re not playing, Ted Nugent is not one of them. The veteran rocker shared his opinions on people doing sports and talked about his knee injury in the recent episode of his Nightly Nuge live stream series.
Ted Nugent does not like sports. He finds the activity dangerous and watching it boring. After being on stage actively for almost six decades, Ted Nugent disclosed that his stunts have caused him a great deal of pain in his knees, and he was diagnosed with a ‘meniscus.’ He explained, “Just so you know; the keyword is the meniscus.”
He then started to talk about his experience with the injury by saying, “I never knew what the term meniscus meant till the doctors probed my knees after jumping off amplifiers all my life, not knowing my knee caps needed some type of installation and lubricants. He said, ‘Mr. Nugent, you have no meniscus.’”
The musician’s hate for sports is not only about doing them but also watching and talking about them. He continued, “You’re right. I am not a spectator sports fan, so all I can say about your Kansas victory is [yawning]. How boring can you get watching guys do that? I can’t imagine watching a team do that.” Having a lot of opinions on many subjects, Nugent didn’t refrain from bashing people who do sports as well.
“What a waste of energy and testosterone,” the rocker said. He admitted bluntly before he decided to be okay and happy for people who do it. “But to all those billions of people that love it, I am happy for them.” He left no room to breathe for the sports people as he said one thing pleasant and then bashed the activity in his following sentence. “Enjoy the meniscus-destroying crippling sport of trying to get a ball between two goalposts at the cost of people’s health and skeleton. Hallelujah!”
While he is happy for people spending time and energy watching and doing sports, Nugent is not one of them, and it doesn’t seem like he will ever understand the whole idea of sports. Indeed, his knee injury caused by the stunts he pulled on stage throughout his career made him aware of the seriousness of the injuries, so he doesn’t want to do anything that will give him difficulty in the same way.
