The announcement clarified that Shane will tour with Chevy Metal, the cover band his father Taylor Hawkins founded, instead of joining Foo Fighters.

Shane has already established his own musical presence in recent years through performances with both bands.

Far Out Magazine documented Shane’s drumming prowess during several California shows in 2023. He impressed audiences with his renditions of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath classics.

Consequence highlighted Shane’s notable performances at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in September 2022. He later made a special guest appearance during one of Foo Fighters’ Boston Calling performances.

Taylor Hawkins founded Chevy Metal in 2013. Riff Magazine noted that the band continues to celebrate classic rock music while honoring Taylor Hawkins’ musical legacy.

Shane’s choice to tour with Chevy Metal carries forward his father’s musical legacy while establishing his own artistic path.
