The announcement continued with details about the touring arrangements and Fox’s potential limited involvement.

“With his full support, Stryper will tour Latin America this summer with guitarist Howie Simon, who has filled in previously,” they explained. “Oz may still be able to join us for occasional one-off or weekend shows, but longer trips are not recommended.”

The band concluded their statement by requesting support for their longtime guitarist.

“We appreciate your prayers for Oz and his medical team, and we look forward to seeing you in July,” they said.

Fox’s current health challenges stem from a series of medical issues that have affected his ability to tour extensively with the Christian metal band.

Loudwire reported that Fox’s health struggles began in 2018 when he was diagnosed with two brain tumors. The guitarist has since undergone multiple surgeries to address these serious health concerns. These procedures have significantly impacted his touring capabilities.

Blabbermouth noted that Fox underwent brain surgery in May 2024. This latest procedure necessitated careful recovery and avoiding prolonged or intense touring activities. This recent surgery has been a key factor in the medical advice recommending he limit his touring schedule.

Fox has remained optimistic about his recovery and potential return to performing despite these challenges. Ultimate Metal revealed that Fox recently expressed hope about joining the band for certain events. This indicates progress in his recovery process.

Howie Simon has been serving as Fox’s replacement. He has previously filled in for the guitarist during past performances when health issues prevented Fox from participating in full touring schedules. The band’s decision to continue touring with Simon demonstrates their commitment to maintaining their performance schedule while prioritizing Fox’s health and recovery.
