Sting Says He’s Not Sure He Would Have Survived This Year Without Working On His New Album

Sting opened up about his mental health during the global pandemic and how composing and writing a new album helped him overcome the problems in his life by explaining one of the reasons behind releasing a brand new record during his recent interview with USA Today.

Sting can be defined as a very productive musician which inspires many young generation singers while they are working on their new projects. Since the beginning of his professional career, he hasn’t made his fans wait so long and has kept releasing new albums without giving too long breaks. However, his fans got surprised to hear that Sting was going to release his new record while the other musicians decided to postpone their projects.

Following the announcement, Sting released his fifteenth studio album ‘The Bridge’ on November 19, 2021, after he shared the first single from the album ‘If It’s Love’ on September 1, 2021. The album received very positive reviews from both music critics and his longtime dedicated fans. They shared their ideas about the album saying that it motivated them to hold on during the COVID-19 outbreak through their social media accounts.

In addition, Sting highlighted that creating and recording his new album helped him get through these hard times and he was able to protect his mental health with the help of ‘working on The Bridge.’ Sting said that he couldn’t have survived if he hadn’t focused on producing new materials and added that studios are very isolating and releasing the album was the best thing to do during the lockdown when he couldn’t perform live shows.

Sting said in his interview that:

“Studios are very isolating places anyway. In a way, it helped get through what everybody was going through. Having my work saved my mental health frankly. Without that, I’m not sure I would have survived it. I couldn’t be on tour so I’ve made a record.”
