Sophie Simmons Seems To Be Having Problems With An Artist She Collaborated

KISS icon Gene Simmons’ daughter and multitalented young artist Sophie Simmons shared a short statement via Instagram Stories which seemed to be addressed to one of the musicians she has worked with, and apparently, now she is having trouble with.

As you may know, the bass player and co-lead singer of KISS, Gene Simmons has a young daughter, Sophie, who has been focusing on various artistic genres, including music and poetry. Most recently, on November 27, 2020, Sophie released her much-anticipated poetry book titled ‘Secrets I Would Never Say, But I Would Sing,’ which involved some pieces from her personal journal.

Back in 2015, Sophie Simmons started her career in music by releasing her debut single titled ‘Kiss Me,’ which was a cover of the Sixpence None The Richer’s 1998 song. Later in 2017, she collaborated with Yellow Claw for a song on the ‘Los Amsterdam’ album.

Additionally, Sophie released two solo singles named ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Burn Me Down’ in 2018. Earlier in 2020, Simmons released her single titled ‘Mine’ featuring Felix Cartal which was climbing numerous charts since its initial release.

Recently, the young musician shared a short statement via Instagram Stories which seemed to be addressing one of the musicians she has been working with. In her open letter, Sophie asked a hypothetical question to her followers about what to do in a situation when an artist cuts their song and holds it for months and announced the album’s release by teasing a few songs but still won’t give them permission to pitch out the song they wrote to other musicians. Simmons stated that she wanted to know, in a situation like this, whether her song should still be considered in the album or not.

Here is what Sophie Simmons wrote in her recent Instagram story:

“When an artist cuts your song and holds it for 9 months…

and announced the album coming out… teased a few songs and lyrics…

but still won’t give you permission to pitch out the song you wrote to other artists…

is it on or off the album? haha
