Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan, drummer of Slipknot, recently addressed the continued delay of the band’s long-shelved album “Take A Look Outside Your Window” (LOYW) during a Discord Q&A with fans. The announcement was reported by Reddit.

Crahan acknowledged his previous promise that the album would arrive in 2025. He expressed regret over the postponement and explained that unforeseen circumstances have affected the creative process.

“Lets start with LOYW, I know I told everyone it would be this year. I’m very sorry it hasn’t been. Things come to play that change things all the time with the art we create,” Crahan said.

Despite the setback, the drummer offered reassurance to fans about the project’s future timeline.

“I want you to know 2026 is the year. It’s just simply time and I’m just getting tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise,” he continued.

The announcement marks another chapter in the long and complicated history of this experimental project. Chaoszine reports that the album has faced numerous delays over the years. Fans and band members alike have grown increasingly frustrated with the extended wait.

The Mosh notes that “Take A Look Outside Your Window” was originally recorded in 2008 during the “All Hope Is Gone” sessions. The project served as an experimental side project featuring Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Shawn Crahan, and Sid Wilson. It was designed to showcase a different artistic direction with a distinct “Radiohead vibe” that set it apart from Slipknot’s typical heavy sound.

The album’s release has been tentatively scheduled multiple times before. Metal Addicts indicates the project was expected in 2019, then again in 2023 and 2024. Each time, postponements occurred due to various artistic and business factors that prevented its completion and distribution.

However, there are reasons to believe the 2026 timeline may be more credible than previous promises. Metal Injection revealed that the album is now in the hands of the band’s management. Artwork and a marketing plan are already in place, suggesting that the project has progressed beyond the planning stages.

With management involvement and promotional materials prepared, fans have reason to be cautiously optimistic about finally hearing this long-lost record in 2026. Crahan’s personal frustration with the delays—evident in his statement that he’s “getting tired of waiting” himself—may also signal a renewed commitment to bringing the project to completion.
