Sharon Osbourne has spoken out about preserving her late husband Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy. She also shared new details about the return of Ozzfest in a recent interview.
The Black Sabbath icon’s widow addressed the outpouring of support following Ozzy’s passing. She confirmed that Ozzfest will return to Villa Park in Birmingham and hinted at upcoming headliner announcements.
“Ozzy’s legacy isn’t fading. I cannot tell you how blown away we’ve all been with the love that has been shown for him,” Sharon Osbourne said.
She then turned to the festival itself, revealing concrete plans while keeping some details under wraps for now.
“Ozzfest is going to be at Villa Park again. Whether it’ll be two nights [in Birmingham], that’s up for the fans to tell me,” she continued. “Of course we’re speaking to people (as for headliners.) I can’t let that out yet, but it’ll be soon.”
The choice of Villa Park carries particular weight. The venue was the site of Ozzy’s final performance with the original Black Sabbath lineup — the Back to the Beginning show on July 5, 2025 — making it a deeply symbolic location for any tribute event bearing his name.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, just 17 days after that farewell concert. He had battled Parkinson’s disease publicly for years, and his death sent shockwaves through the global rock and metal community.
Sharon has been vocal about how fans should honor him. On the first anniversary of his death, she urged supporters to remember him by playing his music “really loud.” Birmingham also marked the occasion by holding its first-ever Ozzy Day — a free public celebration in his hometown that underscored the city’s deep connection to its most famous son.
Ozzfest was founded by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 1996 as a touring heavy metal festival. It was born after Ozzy was dropped from the Lollapalooza lineup and grew into one of the most influential platforms in rock and metal, launching and elevating the careers of countless artists over its run.
