Roger Waters is facing another show cancelation as the German municipality of Frankfurt recently announced that Waters’ appearance for an upcoming festival wouldn’t take place. Reportedly, the authorities cited his political comments as the reason for the cancelation and called the Pink Floyd icon an ‘antisemite.’
Waters seems not to catch a break these days. David Gilmour‘s wife, Polly Samson, recently put the rocker into the crosshairs and didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. She called out the former Pink Floyd rocker for being an ‘antisemite’ and a Putin apologist on Twitter, along with other not-so-flattering words.
Even though Roger seemingly wished to make amends by praising Gilmour’s musical talents on Twitter soon after Polly’s tweets, this wasn’t the first time the bassist was in trouble for his controversial remarks. Previously, a possible major catalog sale was put on hold due to Waters’ political comments.
It now seemed that the city of Frankfurt also decided to take action against Roger, canceling an upcoming show at a festival. The city council reportedly had the power to cancel the show since the municipality owed %60 of the rights to the festival, which made it easier to ban Waters’ appearance. It was also reported that the council cited the rocker’s ‘antisemite’ comments as the reason for the cancelation.
As for Waters, he had five shows, now four, planned out in Germany. However, many have been calling out the officials to cancel those other appearancll, but authorities have stated that it could be a lot more challenging to ban the Pink Floyd rocker’s gigs due to legal complications.
