Rick Allen Says He Needs A Rest From Def Leppard’s World Tour

As Def Leppard continues to tour with Mötley Crüe, Rick Allen recently took to Instagram to share an update and say that he needs a break from the ongoing shows and exhausting traveling.

Posting a video of himself ahead of their Hannover concert, the drummer said:

“It is me. I’m actually outside, as you noticed. Mötley Crüe is on behind me. Nikki Sixx is actually saying a few words, but I may have got it wrong last night. We are in Hannover right now. So I’m not sure. There is a lot of traveling on this. So I may have got it wrong. I made a mistake, which isn’t like me at all. But yes, plenty of you were curious. That would be wrong. A lot of it. There is somebody behind me at the moment.”

Allen then expressed his need for rest:

“So yeah, I’m looking forward to a couple of days off. I definitely need the rest. That’s for sure. And I’ll see everybody out there, and I guess I will be seeing you on the other side. I leave you with thanks to everybody. I had fantastic comments on all of these videos. And I really do appreciate it. So, thank you, guys.”

After the brutal attack he experienced in March, the Def Leppard drummer had informed the fans that he would join the rest of the tour. So, he took the stage with his band in the European shows that kicked off in Sheffield, England, on May 22. After performing in Hannover on June 3, Leppard and Crüe members have finally had a few days off until their June 7 gig in Sölvesborg, Sweden.
