Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea Picks The Best Punk Rock Drummer Of All Time

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea recently posted a tweet to reveal who he thinks is the greatest drummer in the history of punk rock music.

RHCP’s Flea is a frequent social media user; he regularly posts tweets to express his endless love and support for the Lakers, holds Q&A sessions with fans, and reveals his thoughts on his fellow artists in the industry. Moreover, the bassist likes to interact with fans on Twitter and comment on the contemporary rock sound.

On July 7, Flea took to his Twitter to celebrate the Beatles drummer Ringo Starr’s birthday. While celebrating his 82nd birthday, the musician stressed that Starr made outstanding contributions to drumming techniques, as he added his emphasis on feeling rather than technical virtuosity. Nevertheless, Flea described Starr as the most underrated drummer in rock music history in his tweet.

Recently, Flea revealed his opinions on another drummer, Don Bolles. Bolles was involved in LA’s 1970s and 1980s punk scene and performed with bands like Germs, 45 Grave, Nervous Gender, and Celebrity Skin. Before moving to LA in February 1978, he also played with several Phoenix punk bands.

Currently, Don Bolles is not focusing on drumming; he instead works with other musicians as a DJ and organizes events with them. In his recent tweet, Flea argued that Don Bolles is the greatest punk rock drummer to this day and revealed that he is a fan of Bolles’ style.

Flea’s tweet read:

“Don Bolles is the greatest punk rock drummer of all time.”
