Poison drummer Rikki Rockett revealed uncertainty about the band’s potential comeback tour in a recent interview on Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk.
Most of the band stands ready to hit the road for their 40th anniversary. However, the final decision now rests with frontman Bret Michaels.
“We are still planning on going out next year… We got a great offer, and to be honest with you, it’s in Bret’s lap right now — honestly,” Rockett said. “So, we’re good to go, and hopefully we can make a deal and do it. I think it would be a shame not to do it, because this is our 40th anniversary — all original members.”
Rockett emphasized the band’s current capabilities and performance readiness. “We’re not getting any younger. We can tear it up. We’ve still got it. Let’s do it. That’s how I feel about it.”
The drummer provided clarity about other band members’ status. “I’m good to go, and so are bassist Bobby Dall and guitarist C.C. DeVille. It is up to Bret at this point. And that’s just being truthful… I mean, as far as I know, we’re good to go.”
“There just hasn’t been anything solid. I haven’t signed anything or anything like that,” Rockett added. “But it’s more than a year away, or about a year away, so we have time. But hey, with the economy, who knows?”
The potential tour would celebrate a significant milestone. All original members would reunite to mark four decades since Poison’s formation.
Michaels’ recent career decisions help explain the delay in finalizing tour plans.
A report from Audacy revealed Michaels’ intention to take most of 2025 off for recharging. He plans to limit his performances to select dates with both the Bret Michaels Band and potentially Poison.
The band’s last major performance series occurred during the “Nothing But a Good Time” tour in 2018-2019. Documentation of the band’s touring history shows this tour proved the original lineup’s enduring appeal and live performance capabilities.
American Songwriter highlighted the deeper significance of the potential 2026 reunion. The tour would transcend a typical performance series by celebrating the band’s complete legacy with all original members.
The extended timeline leading to 2026 provides ample opportunity. The band can now coordinate schedules effectively and ensure full commitment from all members, especially Michaels, for this anniversary celebration.
