Paul McCartney’s Daughter Mary On Unveiling The Secrets Of Abbey Road Studios

The new Disney+ documentary ‘If These Walls Could Sing,’ which tells the story of the enduring Abbey Road Studios, is set to make its streaming debut on December 16. Directed by the Beatles icon Paul McCartney’s daughter Mary, the film features interviews with Paul, Ringo Starr, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, and many others. Mary McCartney recently sat down with Rolling Stone for an interview and gave insight into the making process of the documentary.

“Hearing it was the anniversary of Abbey Road Studios brought back so many memories to me,” Mary said, referring to the prominent place of the recording studio in her life since her childhood. The director noted, “I have grown up visiting Abbey Road; it feels like family to me.”

So, being involved in such an important project was very personal and helped Mary McCartney uncover many unknown stories about the long history of the famous London studios. She added, “In directing this feature-length documentary, it felt natural to explore the wealth of stories and unearth so many unheard gems that I had not known about.”

The official trailer for ‘If These Walls Could Sing’ just premiered and featured brief moments from the interviews of Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Noel Gallagher, among others. While Abbey Road Studios’ most outstanding guests were the Beatles, the place also opened its doors to many other legendary names like Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Oasis, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Lady Gaga.
