Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix recently revealed his favorite young artists during a chat with 104.3 MYfm. While the rocker named a few bands, he named Jelly Roll as his favorite young artist.

“So, younger artists that I’m really digging, there’s a band called Bring Me The Horizon I really like. Another one Teddy Swims. I really dig what he does. He’s got such a soulful voice and it’s also a guy like Jelly Roll,” he explained.

“He’s not necessarily like a younger artist but he’s having that break that he’s been working for his whole life and he deserves it man and the message he’s bringing to the people is powerful,” the singer added. So yeah, there’s some stuff bubbling up that underneath there that I just really dig. I listen to a very broad range of music. It goes from metal pop hip hop punk and those are just a couple that I’m feeling lately.”

The rocker’s wide range of music tastes must have been reflected in his band’s music since he loves to invite musicians from different genres to collaborate with him. The most recent example of this is the track ‘Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark),’ a collaboration of Shaddix and Carrie Underwood.

And his music taste is as diverse as he says it is. The rocker named his top 5 favorite albums of all time in an interview, and it ranges from Rage Against The Machine’s self-titled to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.’ Other names include The Beatles, Kings Of Leon and Wu-Tang Clan.
