Ozzy Osbourne’s Wife Sharon Decides To Leave Her TV Show After Facing Backlash For Racism Comments

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne‘s wife and a co-host on the CBS talk show ‘The Talk,’ Sharon Osbourne decided to leave the tv show according to a released statement after receiving major backlash due to her actions during an episode when Sharon defended the famous host Pierce Morgan with his controversial statements about Meghan Markle that are allegedly racist.

As you might remember, it all started when the world was shaken by Meghan Markle’s special interview with Oprah Winfrey, especially when the Duchess of Sussex revealed that the Royal Family has concerns about the skin color of their baby due to the fact that Markle has an African American mother.

The world was divided into two, those who believed in the Duchess of Sussex and despised the Royal Family due to their racism while there are plenty of people who did not believe Meghan Markle at all. Famous tv host Piers Morgan was one of those who did not believe in Meghan Markle during an episode of Good Morning Britain, and after his statements during the show, many people accused him of being racist.

After seeing the accusations on her friend, Sharon Osbourne shared a post on her official Twitter page to show support for Piers Morgan by stating that everybody has the freedom to express their opinion, however, the way she expressed herself rubbed many people in the wrong way and a number of people also accused her of being a racist herself for supporting Morgan.

Furthermore, Sharon Osbourne opened up about the matter during a recent episode of The Talk and insisted on her opinions, however, due to the fact that she got a little too defensive as the so-hosts of the show kept asking her questions, which made her look like the guilty in this scenario.

While the famous tv personality shared an apology via a Twitter post expressing how she felt attacked at the time and panicked. However, people do not seem to be satisfied as Sharon kept on receiving major backlash and accused of being a racist. Therefore, CBS just released a statement announcing that Osbourne made the decision to depart the show.

Here is the statement:

“The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon‘s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace. We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts.

At the same time, we acknowledge the Network and Studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast as it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race.

During this week’s hiatus, we are coordinating workshops, listening sessions, and training about equity, inclusion, and cultural awareness for the hosts, producers, and crew. Going forward, we are identifying plans to enhance the producing staff and producing procedures to better serve the hosts, the production, and, ultimately, our viewers.”
