Sharon Osbourne wishes she hadn’t stopped Ozzy Osbourne from a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ audition.

She called it her ‘biggest mistake’ in her appearance on Billy Corgan’s The Magnificent Others podcast, explaining, “He got offered to go and read for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ and I’ve never said this to anyone …. and I said no.”

“Now wouldn’t he have been perfect?,” Sharon asked the Smashing Pumpkins frontman in the rest of their chat.

Sharon confirmed Ozzy was considered for the role of Captain Teague in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.’ The part, linked to Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow, went to Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards. Depp had suggested Richards for the role, but Ozzy was also in the mix.

Corgan then joked that Ozzy could still be in a movie. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series, which made over $4.5 billion, is getting a reboot. In 2022, he said they were close to making a sixth movie.

Bruckheimer revealed to the Hollywood Reporter, “We have a very good script. We developed two of them — the one with Margot Robbie and one with a younger cast. The Margot Robbie one needs a little more work. The younger cast one is close. Hopefully, we’ll get both of them.”

Osbourne didn’t get a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ role, but he has been in several movies. He appeared in 1986’s ‘Trick or Treat’ and also had roles in ‘The Jerky Boys,’ ‘Private Parts,’ ‘Little Nicky,’ ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember,’ and ‘Ghostbusters.’

Despite health issues, Ozzy is still making music. His 2022 album ‘Patient Number 9′ won a Grammy, but he retired from touring. Black Sabbath’s final reunion show is on July 5 in Birmingham, with guests like Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Jason Momoa.
