Late Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne has reached a major streaming milestone. His classic 1980 song “Crazy Train” has officially surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. The milestone earns it a place in the platform’s exclusive Billions Club, one year after the rock icon’s death.

The announcement highlighted the addition of new artists and songs to the Billions Club, a distinction reserved for tracks that have reached the one-billion-stream mark on Spotify.

“Same milestone, new faces,” Spotify said in its announcement. “Meet the latest members of the Billions Club. Ozzy Osbourne – ‘Crazy Train.'”

This achievement carries added weight when placed alongside the rest of Osbourne’s catalog and the timing of the milestone itself.

“Crazy Train” marks Osbourne’s first solo track to cross the billion-stream threshold on Spotify. It is also only the second song of his overall career to reach that mark, following Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.” This underscores the staying power of both his band work and his solo output decades after their release.

The song originally appeared on “Blizzard of Ozz,” Osbourne’s 1980 debut solo album, released after his departure from Black Sabbath. It was written alongside guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Bob Daisley. The song became Osbourne’s first solo single to crack the Top 10 on the U.S. rock charts, cementing his transition into a successful solo career.

Interest in “Crazy Train” surged following Osbourne’s death on July 22, 2025. Fans revisited his extensive discography in the wake of his passing. That renewed attention has continued to build over the past year, ultimately propelling the track past the one-billion-stream milestone.

The recognition marks another lasting testament to Osbourne’s influence on rock music. “Crazy Train” continues to resonate with listeners worldwide even after his passing.
