Nuno Bettencourt has confirmed that Extreme is officially working on their seventh studio album. He shared the exciting news with fans through a post on Instagram.

The guitarist shared a photo from the studio along with a message announcing the band’s return to recording new material.

“DAY 1 2026 EX7REME,” Bettencourt said.

The announcement has generated enthusiastic responses from fans. One commented about their anticipation for both the new music and upcoming tour opportunities. Another fan expressed gratitude to the band members and mentioned hoping for a sound reminiscent of their “III Sides” era while trusting the band’s creative direction.

This new album represents a significant milestone for the band. It comes on the heels of their successful return to the studio after years of anticipation from their dedicated fanbase.

The upcoming seventh studio album will serve as the follow-up to “Six,” which was released in June 2023 via earMUSIC. Blabbermouth reported that the previous album debuted at No. 10 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart with 12,500 first-week copies sold in its opening week.

The release of “Six” marked a particularly important moment for Extreme. It represented their first studio album since 2008’s “Saudades de Rock.” Chaoszine noted that the album continued to impact fans and fellow musicians around the world following its worldwide release.

The band’s return to recording comes after guitarist Nuno Bettencourt had a particularly busy 2025, which included various performances and projects. Digital Noise Magazine indicated that fans are already speculating whether the new album might be titled “Seven,” following the numerical pattern established with their previous release.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the rock band as they enter 2026 with fresh studio work underway. They promise to deliver new material to their loyal fanbase who have been eagerly awaiting their next musical offering.
