During a recent interview on Virgin Radio UK’s YouTube channel, Noel Gallagher recalled how Madonna ‘gatecrashed’ his 50th birthday party. Revealing that the pop singer wasn’t invited to the event, he shared:
“Listen to this: I know her manager really really well, and I didn’t invite, didn’t even know she was in town, and it was like late at night. Two or three in the morning, and the party is going full swing. Somebody comes up to the bar where I stand and says, ‘Hey, happy birthday.’ I turn around, and it’s Madonna.”
He explained how the meeting went by saying:
“The first thing I said to her was, ‘Who invited you?’ I brought her inside to see the girls, who all happened to be dancing to Madonna in the theme. It was a surreal moment, but she’s a strong character.”
The Grand Party For Gallagher’s 50th

The party, which took place on May 29, 2017, had a ‘Narcos’ theme and hosted many celebrities besides Madonna, including Bono, Damon Albarn, Stella McCartney, Michael Fassbender, and Alicia Vikander. But the singer’s brother, Liam Gallagher, didn’t attend the event.
Instead, despite lashing out at his brother around that time for allegedly not inviting him to the party, the former Oasis member celebrated Noel’s birthday on X, writing:
“Happy 50th, rkid. Stay young.”
A Quieter Occasion This Year

Noel Gallagher turned 56 this year, but his birthday celebration in 2023 didn’t make the headlines as it did in 2017. Although the event came shortly before the release of High Flying Birds’ new album, ‘Council Skies,’ it went rather quietly.
In fact, talking about possible celebrations in a chat with The One Show a few days before his birthday, the singer commented:
“I think my mum might be the only one who bothers to acknowledge it. The thing is, I always feel you should acknowledge your mum on your birthday, seeing as she was the one that was doing all the hard work.”
