Bret Michaels has shared his plans for 2026, addressing speculation about a potential Poison reunion tour in a statement shared on Instagram.
Poison bandmates Rikki Rockett, C.C. DeVille, and Bobby Dall had agreed to a Live Nation contract for a 2026 40th-anniversary tour. However, Michaels has chosen to pursue a different path. Instead of reuniting with Poison, he will focus on performing with the Bret Michaels Band.
“From back in the day to now, I couldn’t be more excited for the 2026 shows with the Bret Michaels Band,” Michaels said. “I live and breathe music, sports, family and friends and I can’t wait to bring that energy to every stage and make it nothing but a good time!”
In an interview with Talkin’ Bout Rock, Rockett explained the situation regarding the other band members’ approval. “C.C., Bobby and I agreed. We thought it was great. We thought the money was great. We thought the lay of the land looked great. And then Bret looked at it and has not agreed to anything,” he stated.
The decision marks a significant moment in Poison’s history. Tensions between Michaels and his bandmates have become increasingly apparent. According to Blabbermouth, Rockett admitted that he doesn’t currently communicate with Michaels. This reveals the strained relationship within the band. The communication breakdown has directly impacted the band’s ability to move forward with reunion plans.
Michaels’ earlier optimism about 2026 has shifted. He had previously expressed hope that 2026 would be the perfect year for a Poison 40th-anniversary tour with approximately 40 limited dates, as reported by Alternative Nation. Those plans have now been shelved indefinitely due to his refusal to sign the Live Nation contract.
While a full Poison reunion tour remains off the table, Michaels is not completely stepping away from performing in 2026. A sold-out Hampton Beach show originally scheduled for November 15, 2025, has been rescheduled to May 15-16, 2026, according to Parade. His official website indicates other solo performances are planned for 2026, including a show at The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor in Canada.
Michaels’ decision means Poison fans will not see the classic lineup reunite for the band’s milestone anniversary tour in 2026. With no official bookings for a Poison tour and communication between band members at a standstill, the future of the legendary rock band remains uncertain.
