Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss recently opened up about her favorite music to listen to while working out. She shared her diverse playlist preferences in an interview with Gym Rock Crew.

The guitarist discussed her different musical choices for various types of exercise. She explained her approach to both cardio and weight training sessions.

“During my cardio, I listen to some audiobooks and podcasts, because I am one of those people that finds cardio very tedious,” Strauss said. “I know a lot of people, they love their cardio. I am not one of them. I do not enjoy cardio. So, I’ll put on a book or some motivational podcast or something like that.”

When it comes to her strength training routine, Strauss takes a completely different approach to her audio entertainment.

“And then when I lift, I listen to music — mostly rock, of course, or metal,” she continued. “I like the Spotify daily mix, so it gives me a fresh playlist of Soilwork or At The Gates, kind of like a lot of melodic death metal and stuff like that in my lifting playlist. And then every once in a while I’ll go off the rails and listen to some really upbeat ’90s rock, like Sublime or something like that. Sometimes I just feel like getting a little like pep in my step when I do my workout. So sometimes it’ll be that.”

Strauss’s eclectic workout playlist reflects her diverse musical background and extensive experience in the rock and metal scene. The guitarist has built an impressive career spanning multiple high-profile collaborations and solo achievements.

Her official biography notes that fans may recognize Nita as Demi Lovato’s former guitarist, Alice Cooper’s touring guitarist of the past eight years, and the official guitarist of the Los Angeles Rams. Her versatility as a performer has allowed her to work across different musical styles and venues, from intimate studio sessions to massive stadium performances.

Premier Guitar reported that she has climbed the mountain of shred, toured with Alice Cooper and Demi Lovato, topped a half-dozen charts with her solo debut, and earned a Super Bowl ring. This achievement highlights her unique position in both the music and sports entertainment worlds. It demonstrates her ability to adapt her skills to various performance contexts.

Bored Panda detailed that born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Nita Strauss discovered her passion for guitar as a teenager. Her musician father, James Strauss, served as an early influence. Her self-taught approach to mastering the instrument has shaped her distinctive playing style and contributed to her success across multiple musical genres.

Ibanez guitars confirmed that Nita is currently playing guitar for Alice Cooper and her bands We Start Wars and The Starbreakers. She is also working on her solo projects. This multi-faceted approach to her career allows her to explore different musical territories. This likely influences her diverse workout playlist choices that range from melodic death metal to upbeat 90s rock.
