Nikki Sixx Says Aerosmith Is Hands Down One Of The Greatest Rock Bands In History
Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx recently shared Aerosmith’s most up-to-date release, ‘1971: The Road Starts Hear’ on Instagram and stated that they are one of the greatest rock bands.
Aerosmith was formed in 1970, but the band didn’t release their debut album until 1973. However, before assembling the songs for their 1973 release, the band members jammed and had fun together creating a few tracks. The group consisted of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Ray Tabano, bassist Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford when they initially assembled.
The band recently collected the songs they worked on in 1971 and released them in November 2021, taking their fans back to the beginning. The album includes recording the group’s iconic hit ‘Dream On’ with its 1971 version. Currently, the band is still actively performing. Like other musicians, the pandemic affected their touring schedules. However, they are determined to continue playing after the restrictions allow them to hit the road.
Recently, Nikki Sixx shared a screenshot from Spotify listening to the recent release ‘1971: The Road Starts Hear’ and stated that Aerosmith is undoubtfully one of the greatest rock bands in history. Their 1971 recordings inspired Mötley Crüe star Nikki Sixx since he thanked them for their release and what they brought to the rock community.
The caption of Sixx’s post follows:
“This is hands down one of the greatest rock bands in history, and to hear these early recordings just blew my mind. Thank you, Aerosmith.“
Over the years, Aerosmith has influenced many bands with their music and lyrics. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are known to be the ‘Toxic Twins’ in songwriting and lifestyle. They highly contributed to their band’s reputation as ‘America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band’ and ‘The Bad Boys From Boston.’ Hence the bassist of the most notorious group in the world fanboying looks pretty understandable.
