New Arch Enemy vocalist Lauren Hart recently opened up about her experience performing her first show with the band. She shared her thoughts on how fans responded to her joining in place of Alissa White-Gluz.
Hart described the overwhelming emotions she felt on stage during her debut performance.
“It was a dream come true for me and the start of a new future. And it somehow connected with the child in me that loved Arch Enemy from [2001’s] ‘Wages Of Sin’ [album],” Hart said. “And it was just all that going on in my mind and yet none of it as well because I was so in the moment. And it was so overwhelming, and the crowd response was amazing. I was on another planet. I was so happy.”
Reflecting on the fan reception, Hart admitted she had expected the process of winning over the audience to take considerably more time and effort.
“I received a lot of love from everyone, and I was really taken aback by that. I think in my mind I thought it would take a while to really… I thought I’d have to really work and earn that, as it’s really difficult when changes are made,” she continued. “But I feel like the reception immediately right away was so positive and everyone was so welcoming and warm in the audience. And I was very happy — very happy, and a little surprised, actually. It was instantly amazing.”
Hart’s comments come as Arch Enemy moves forward with their new lineup following the departure of longtime vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. The transition marks one of the most significant lineup changes in the band’s recent history. Hart’s warm reception signals a promising start to a new chapter for the Swedish melodic death metal outfit.
Hart’s debut with Arch Enemy took place on March 27, 2026, in Beijing, China. Before joining Arch Enemy, she was best known as the frontwoman of Once Human, a Los Angeles-based metal band she had led since its formation. Her background in aggressive, technically demanding metal made her a natural fit for Arch Enemy’s sound.
White-Gluz had been with Arch Enemy for 11 years before announcing her departure in November 2025. She initially offered little explanation, stating only that she had chosen to follow a “separate path.”
Following her debut in Asia, Hart’s first European performance with Arch Enemy came on July 17, 2026, at the Area 53 festival in Leoben, Austria. The show was part of the band’s summer European tour and marked another milestone in Hart’s rapid integration into the band. It further demonstrated that the fan base was ready to embrace the new era.
