Mike Shinoda shared an amusing family revelation about his daughters’ admiration for Emily Armstrong in an interview with Billboard.
Shinoda discussed Linkin Park’s upcoming single ‘Let You Fade’ and their deluxe album. During this conversation, he revealed his daughters’ perspective on the band’s collaboration with Armstrong.
“I have daughters, and having them see Emily and be like, ‘Whoa! She is so cool!’ They say this all the time… they’re like, ‘Emily’s so cool,'” Shinoda revealed. “They think she’s the coolest human on Earth. They’re like, ‘Dad, you’re not that cool. She’s very cool.”
Linkin Park is preparing to release their new single ‘Let You Fade’ and additional tracks for the deluxe edition of their comeback album ‘From Zero.’
This heartwarming family anecdote emerges at a significant moment in Linkin Park’s evolution. It marks a new chapter in the band’s history with Armstrong’s involvement.
Reports from Wikipedia indicate that Armstrong, Dead Sara’s co-founder, joined Linkin Park as their lead singer in September 2024. This appointment came seven years after Chester Bennington’s passing.
The band took careful consideration in selecting their new vocalist. Armstrong first participated in a three-day tryout in 2019. In a statement documented by American Songwriter, Shinoda described the decisive moment: “When I started to hear Emily’s voice on things, my brain, it was like the first time that my brain would accept it as a Linkin Park song.”
The forthcoming deluxe edition of ‘From Zero’ marks a significant milestone for the band. Loudwire emphasized Armstrong’s prominent role as co-vocalist alongside Shinoda. This collaboration demonstrates the band’s continued musical evolution.
Armstrong’s presence has created a strong impact beyond the music. She has resonated with fans and made a lasting impression on Shinoda’s family. His daughters have found an inspiring role model in the talented vocalist.
