Deal shared that she is nearing the completion of her training to become a patient care technician (PCT) with DaVita. She described the intensity of the condensed program and the emotional toll it has taken on her along the way.

“DaVita Life 4am!! Almost done training. I’m holding 3 person pod with very little coaching!! I never thought I’d get through this,” Stormy Deal said. “It’s so much learning and studying. It’s like cramming a 2 year program into a 10 week course!! It’s a lot y’all but I’m doing the dang thang!!”

She went on to describe the emotional difficulty of the process. She also expressed growing confidence as she approaches a key milestone.

“Days I would come home crying, thinking I’ll never get it but I’m getting it,” Deal continued. “I’ll be taking my test soon keep me in your thoughts y’all and thank you.”

Deal had previously written about her strained relationship with her father, saying, “Shattered By The Words We Left Unspoken. I MISS U AND LOVE YOU MORE!!!” No further updates on the status of their relationship have been shared.

Mick Mars’ own journey with ankylosing spondylitis offers important context for understanding the family’s story and the challenges that have shaped their dynamic over the years.

Mars was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis at 17 years old, a degenerative spinal condition that causes chronic inflammation in the joints and significantly limits mobility. He managed the disease for more than four decades while continuing to perform. He endured constant pain and stiffness that would have sidelined many musicians far earlier in their careers.

In 2022, Mars stepped away from touring with Mötley Crüe entirely to focus on his health and pursue solo work. That decision led to the release of his debut solo album, “The Other Side of Mars.” The album marked a new chapter in his career outside the band that made him famous.

His health struggles have continued in recent years. Mars underwent hip surgery following a sudden injury sustained while on the road in Europe, a further reminder of how his physical condition has remained an ongoing concern even after leaving the touring lineup.

Mars endured a painful, degenerative illness while sustaining a high-profile music career for decades. This adds a layer of understanding to the emotional distance Stormy Deal has described with her father. It also underscores the resilience both have shown in their respective paths, hers now unfolding in a health care career of her own.
