Josh Freese shared a heartwarming message from A Perfect Circle on his Instagram. The message revealed a humorous list referencing his recent departure from Foo Fighters.

Freese made a surprising discovery in his dressing room after a recent A Perfect Circle performance. The gift included an Ouija board, nunchucks, and a thoughtful note from his bandmates.

“After the APC show last night, I walked in my dressing room and found this,” Freese shared. “I laughed at first when I saw the Ouija Board and nunchucks but then I read the piece of paper. It was touching and of course, made me a little emotional. Really thoughtful and sweet. Thank you to the kind people I’m on tour with right now…brightened my day.”

The band created a list titled “10 Reasons Why We Want Josh Freese on Tour Forever.” It playfully highlighted the drummer’s qualities and contributions:

“1. You actually make us enjoy touring. Your drumming? Impeccable. Your jokes? Slightly unhinged. Perfect combo.
2. You’ve got more band stories than all of us combined. And you still manage to make each one funnier than the last.
3. You refuse to perform unless you were guaranteed a Quija board and nunchucks after every show. Somehow, everything revolves around you—the rhythm, the vibe, and whatever spirits you conjure.
4. You love poodles. Who doesn’t?
5. You read minds and still won’t tell us your secrets. Come on… not one hint?!”

The list continued with personal observations:

“6. You’ve been in, like, 97 bands. But this one feels right.
7. Your wife is a smoke show. Yeah, we said it. We love Nicole. It’s important.
8. You’ve taught us all something. About rhythm. About humility. About being a total pro without ever taking yourself too seriously.
9. You make chaos look composed. Even in a poodle head or in a clown sweater meant for our grandmother’s sewing circle.
10. You already knew we were going to write this list. Duh. And you probably have 10 more to add to it.”

The supportive message arrived shortly after Freese’s unexpected departure from Foo Fighters. He had previously shared his own list of reasons for leaving.

The heartwarming gesture carries special significance due to Freese’s extensive history with A Perfect Circle and his recent career changes.

Records from Wikipedia show Freese’s connection to A Perfect Circle began in 1999. He left Guns N’ Roses to join the band, drawn by their structured plans for writing, recording, and touring.

Freese made a significant impact on A Perfect Circle’s early success. He performed on their first three albums, including the hit releases “Mer de Noms” (2000) and “Thirteenth Step” (2003). After leaving the band in 2012, he maintained his musical connection through contributions to Billy Howerdel’s solo projects.

In March 2024, Freese announced his return to touring with A Perfect Circle after 13 years away. This reunion followed his 2023 role as drummer for Foo Fighters, showcasing his ongoing influence in rock music.

The band’s warm reception and playful list acknowledge Freese’s remarkable musical journey. They also highlight the lasting connections he maintains throughout the rock community.
