Lindsey Buckingham recently discussed potential future collaborations with Stevie Nicks, suggesting that a reunion between the two artists may be on the horizon. This comes from a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The musician reflected on the renewed connection between himself and Nicks following the reissue of their 1973 album. He also shared updates on his current creative projects.

“Just the energy in terms of what Buckingham Nicks did, to sort of create a resurgence of connection between Stevie and myself, on a larger scale, that seems to be something that’s in the air,” Buckingham said.

He also expressed optimism about the coming year and his ongoing musical endeavors.

“I think 2026 is going to be a very interesting, and despite what’s going on in Washington, I think it’s going to be a very good year,” he continued. “Or, maybe because of what’s going on in Washington, but I’m still very grounded in my creative life, I’ve been working on a new solo album for the last couple of years.”

The comments come after the successful reissue of Buckingham Nicks’ debut album last year. This appears to have rekindled the creative partnership between the two longtime collaborators.

This potential reunion marks a significant development in the complex relationship between the two former Fleetwood Mac members. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Buckingham’s recent social media video posted on March 27, 2026, described a “resurgence of connection between Stevie and myself on a larger scale—that seems to be something that’s in the air.” He added his belief that “it will translate to something good and something wonderful and something needed and something extremely appropriate.”

The renewed connection stems directly from the Buckingham Nicks reissue released in September 2025. This prompted joint promotional efforts including separate appearances on the Song Exploder podcast where both artists discussed the track “Frozen Love.” Guitar Player noted that Nicks confirmed in October 2025 that the two were speaking again, reflecting on their “up and down” but “fantastic” relationship and their early days together.

This reconciliation is particularly noteworthy given their turbulent history. This includes Buckingham’s controversial dismissal from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, reportedly at Nicks’ insistence. Stereogum observed that the pair have “fallen out and mended fences several times over the years.” This makes any potential collaboration both significant and somewhat unexpected given their complicated past.

While no specific details about a 2026 project have been announced, Buckingham’s comments have fueled widespread fan speculation about possible new music, a tour, or a revival of the Buckingham Nicks partnership. The guitarist also mentioned that his solo album is just one song away from completion. He referenced a forthcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary by Frank Marshall set to premiere on Apple TV, both scheduled for 2026.
