Keith Richards Mourns The Death Of His Old Dear Friend Robbie Shakespeare

The Rolling Stones icon Keith Richards recently shared a post on his official Twitter account to express his deep sadness over his old friend Robbie Shakespeare’s death, who was a famous bass guitarist.

Robbie Shakespeare, unfortunately, passed away on December 8, 2021, following his kidney surgery. He was famous for his creative use of different musical instruments. He was regarded as one of the greatest reggae bassists. During his career, Robbie collaborated with many famous names such as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Sting, and Joe Cocker.

Robbie Shakespeare teamed up with the drummer Sly Dunbar and they formed ‘Sly and Robbie.’ They released six studio albums together and their 1997 album ‘Friends’ won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. After learning about his death, many musicians shared their sadness through their social media posts.

Shakespeare is also known to work with The Rolling Stones and Keith Richards didn’t forget to honor him with his kind words. Richards shared a photo taken with Robbie and remembered the great times they had. He stated that he will never forget those special moments. He also offered condolences to Robbie’s family and friends.
