Journey recently shared a message with fans following the conclusion of their Final Frontier Tour. The band hinted at a significant announcement about their future plans, as reported on Instagram.

The band addressed their fanbase directly. They expressed gratitude for their continued support throughout the tour.

“Journey family – you’ve been incredible all these years,” the band said. “We appreciate every one of you, and your energy keeps us going night after night. The Final Frontier Tour has been a blast. New announcement coming tomorrow.”

The cryptic message has sparked speculation among fans about what the announcement might entail. Some supporters are hoping for a live-streamed final show similar to what KISS has done. Others are anticipating a European tour announcement with Amsterdam as a potential starting point.

The Final Frontier Tour marked a significant chapter in Journey’s storied career. It represented what was billed as an extensive farewell run that spanned from 2024 to 2026. The tour featured original members Neal Schon on guitar, Ross Valory on bass (who rejoined in 2021), and Jonathan Cain on keyboards. It also included Steve Perry-era vocalist Steve Augeri, who returned as lead singer after Arnel Pineda’s departure in 2024, and drummer Deen Castronovo.

The tour concluded with final shows on May 1-3, 2026, at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and May 10, 2026, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Despite the “final” branding of the tour, Journey’s history suggests that farewell tours don’t always mean the end. The band has previously staged comeback tours after similar “farewell” announcements in the 1980s.

Guitarist Neal Schon recently hinted that Journey might not be finished, adding fuel to speculation about the band’s future. In an April 28, 2026, interview, Schon stated, “We’re not done yet—fans deserve more if the fire’s still burning.” He provided no specifics about potential tours or retirement plans.

Steve Augeri also contributed to the speculation during a May 5 podcast appearance. He mentioned possible “residencies” in Las Vegas or Japan. However, he emphasized that the tour represented a “milestone, not necessarily the end” for the band. Meanwhile, fan communities have been buzzing with unconfirmed rumors about a potential European leg in summer 2027. The rumored tour would possibly feature 10-15 dates across the UK, Germany, Italy, and Netherlands, driven by demand from previously unsold European tour slots.

The band’s teaser comes as they wrap up their Final Frontier Tour dates. Fans are eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s revelation about what the next chapter holds for one of rock’s most enduring acts.
