Josh Kiszka Reacts To Robert Plant Telling That He Hates Greta Van Fleet
Greta Van Fleet lead singer Josh Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner have appeared in a recent podcast episode on Talk Is Jericho, and talked about the everlasting comparisons to Led Zeppelin. In the interview, Josh Kiszka has reacted to Robert Plant’s claim that he hates Greta Van Fleet.
As is known, Greta Van Fleet had been compared to Led Zeppelin quite often considering their sound, and the resemblance of Josh Kiszka to Led Zeppelin’s former singer Robert Plant mostly since their single Highway Tune. The band had also accepted the similarity stating that Led Zeppelin apparently had an influence on Greta Van Fleet and their style is not that much different.
Moreover, Robert Plant also likens Greta Van Fleet’s music to the Led Zeppelin album ‘Led Zeppelin I’ in an interview for Loudwire, and admits he appreciates Kiszka’s vocal style, calling him ‘beautiful little singer.’ He then jokingly adds that his voice makes him remember ‘someone’, actually implying himself.
In a podcast episode named ‘The Battle of Greta Van Fleet’ on Talk is Jericho, Josh Kiszka, and Danny Wagner talked about this resemblance and the ongoing comparison. When asked about a compliment made by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page for the band, Danny Wagner said that he considers being asked to Plant in an interview as a compliment while Josh Kiszka said Plant had made really nice comments about them, including the humorous claim Robert Plant had made.
“Yeah, he’s very sweet and made some really nice comments, but the first thing was kind of a cheeky Robert Plant humor. ‘So what do you think, there’s a bunch of new bands coming out, have you heard Greta Van Fleet? What do you think of Greta Van Fleet?’. He goes, ‘Oh, I hate them.’“
