Rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires canceled their Budapest concert one hour before the starting time, which sparked controversial accusations against Johnny Depp. The Vampires posted on their Instagram page while people were queued outside the venue. In the post, they wrote:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Vampires will be canceling tonight’s show in Budapest. All tickets [general and VIP, including meet [and] greet] will be refunded in full. We love and appreciate all of the fans who traveled from near and far to see us rise, and we’re truly sorry. Sincere apologies, The Hollywood Vampires.”
Then, Johnny Depp also shared the same announcement on his Instagram without adding any further information to explain the sudden cancellation.
However, the lack of details in the announcement created a division among fans; while some expressed their concerns and sent good wishes, others speculated that the last-minute cancel occurred due to Johnny’s alcohol consumption. One of the worried fans wrote:
“We shouldn’t worry if we don’t know what happened, but the fact that they canceled the concert only one h before it should have started has me a little concerned…”
Another Depp fan also expressed their concerns and pointed out the lack of information:
“I’d really appreciate it if Hollywood Vampires would elaborate; I know I’m just a ‘normal ‘ person.. no celebrity status here, but I’m reading some really scary stuff about Johnny Depp, and I’d like to know he is ok… He has to be ok.”
However, one of the fans who seemed to be on the other side of the fence implied that the reason for the cancellation was related to Johnny, sharing a picture of the rocker holding a red solo cup and saying:
“Here’s Johnny Depp drinking an hour before canceling his concert due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’ He likely passed out again.”

This is not the only time Hollywood Vampires postponed, or cancelled their concerts. In May, Depp attended Cannes Film Festival to promote his film, ‘Jeanne du Barry.’ A while after, he announced that he had an ankle injury and the concert dates are postponed. In the IG story, he wrote:
“My dear friends, I am sorry to say that I have fractured my ankle, which is a drag! It began as a hairline break but somewhere between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, it got worse rather than better. Several medical professionals have strongly suggested I avoid any and all activity for the moment and so am sadly unable to travel at this time.”
The actor continued:
To that end, the guys and I are very sorry to miss you in New Hampshire, Boston and New York but fear not, I promise we will bring an amazing show to all of you in Europe and bring our absolute best to the East Coast later this summer and make it up to those who have paid for those shows! Again, sincerest apologies. All my love and respect.”
