In a recent episode of One Life One Chance, a podcast hosted by H2O lead singer Toby Morse, Jessica Miller took listeners on a deep dive into her personal relationship with Lars Ulrich. Miller’s words may potentially cause a stir, as she touched upon sensitive topics, including her past relationships.
Miller explained that they first met at concerts and shows, often with their then-partners in tow. The model admitted that she did not feel an immediate romantic attraction towards the drummer. Instead, she saw him as a friendly acquaintance and was deeply committed to her then-partner.
The timing and circumstances surrounding their newfound singleness provided an opportunity for the two to connect on a deeper level. This shift in dynamics led to the beginning of their romantic relationship, which continues to this day.
Here is what the model said about her relationship with the Metallica member:
“Music — just hanging out around shows and concerts. We had hung a lot together with our respective exes, just after shows, or ran into each other at parties. Totally just running into each other, and we’d be, like, ‘Oh, hey. Good to see you.’ So we knew each other for several years before we actually started dating. And we just happened to run into each other right place, right time; both of us were single at the time.
It was, like, ‘Oh, hey,’ and [I was] seeing him in a different light. It’s weird. I was never attracted to him when I knew him as a friend. I was always like, ‘F*ck, Lars is the nicest guy.’ You guys know — we meet so many people, and it’s, like, sometimes, especially for me, people don’t remember my name, and it’s, like, ‘What’s your name again?’ And Lars would always make a point to come up and say, ‘Hey, Jess. How’re you doing?’, and was just the sweetest guy.
But, as I said, most times we hung out, we were both with our respective exes. I was so in love with my ex — to this day, I love him — so I never looked at Lars like that at all. But as I said, we just ran into each other right place, right time; we were both single. And it was, like, ‘Oh, hey.’ I just saw him in a completely different light. And we’ve been together ever since.”
After becoming a couple in 2012, Ulrich and Miller quickly moved onto the next stage, with the drummer popping the question just nine months into their relationship in July 2013. The couple then tied the knot in March 2015, marking the beginning of Ulrich’s third marriage.
