Jelly Roll is on a mission to end the feud between his two friends — Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem.
In a recent interview with Flagrant, the rapper shared his plans to bring the two musicians together, believing they have more in common than they realize.
“My heart is always to bring them together one day because I see so much more of them and each other than they know,” he shared. “Now I hadn’t really brought it up to Marshall yet because I’m just still kind of glad that I’m still in that circumference to be able to have the conversations, but I do see there’s so much more in them than not. I also gave Kel some perspective, too. I was like, ‘We all grew up watching Eminem, take over the game early.'”
Jelly Roll recalled how growing up, many fans considered it a big deal to be mentioned in an Eminem song. “If you got mentioned in an Eminem song, it was like getting mentioned in a comedy special. You were on f*cking fire, you couldn’t be hotter if you got mentioned in an Eminem special or an HBO special.”
The feud between Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem started in 2012 when MGK called Eminem’s daughter, Hailie, “hot as f*ck” on Twitter. At the time, Hailie was 16 and MGK was 22.
MGK later claimed that Eminem influenced media outlets to ban his music because of the tweet. He even brought it up in a 2017 freestyle on LA Leakers. In response, Eminem released the diss track ‘Not Alike,’ mocking MGK’s image and lyrics.
MGK fired back with his own diss track, ‘Rap Devil.’ In the song, he made bold claims, including saying Eminem asked Diddy to sabotage his career. The track gained a lot of attention, with some fans claiming MGK won round one.
Eminem then explained that he dissed MGK because MGK thought Eminem was trying to ruin his career. However, Eminem said he didn’t care about MGK’s success and pointed out that there are many better rappers than him. He admitted that he wanted to destroy MGK’s career but didn’t want to help him get more attention.
While there is still no winner or loser of the feud, it’s just a matter of time until Jelly Roll’s plan works.
