Jason Bonham Rules Out Return To Hagar, Focuses Fully On Led Zeppelin

Jason Bonham has ruled out a return to Sammy Hagar’s band in an update about his Led Zeppelin tribute project on Instagram.

Bonham unexpectedly left Hagar’s band due to his mother’s health issues. Kenny Aronoff took his place, and Bonham has now confirmed his focus on Led Zeppelin tribute performances.

“Well, we are five shows down and Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin physical graffiti evening is well on its way,” Bonham said. “I am so pleased to everyone is enjoying the celebration of this iconic amazing album. If you haven’t got your ticket yet, come see us play as this will be the only played this year.”

He shared plans for the tribute project: “We have more shows planned, so don’t worry we will be in a city near you later in the summer and Fall.”

Speculation had suggested a possible return to Hagar’s lineup. However, Bonham’s commitment to his Led Zeppelin tribute shows signals his continued focus on personal musical projects.

This announcement coincides with Bonham’s significant new chapter in his tribute show career.

AXS TV revealed that Bonham’s current tour celebrates the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s iconic album ‘Physical Graffiti.’ The 21-city U.S. tour launched on May 3, 2025, marking a new direction in his performances.

Jambase highlighted a milestone in Bonham’s career. This tour represents his first dedication of an entire show to a single Led Zeppelin album. The choice demonstrates his commitment to preserving his father’s musical legacy.

The tour will continue through May 31, 2025. Notable venues include Harrah’s VooDoo Lounge in Kansas City and a stop in Tulsa. These performances showcase Bonham’s dedication to sharing the Led Zeppelin experience nationwide.

Vina Robles Amphitheatre began ticket sales on February 28, 2025. A pre-sale event preceded this on February 27.
