Jared Leto responded to haters of the new rock album from Thirty Seconds to Mars on Instagram.

After years of electronic music, Leto’s band hinted in a new video that they might make a rock album again. In a video on Instagram, Jared and his team joke about a troll criticizing them for making a rock album again.

The video read, “Watching the first troll talk sh*t after we finally make a rock album again.” In the caption, Let asked, “Like & share if you want a Rock Album.”

“I love this humor,” a fan wrote in the comments. “Whether the new album rocks or not, it will be yours and that’s a guarantee that it will be great. And judging by the little leaks, it’s gonna be a hell of a banger!”

Another one added, “Dude, that’s all our emo hearts ever wanted.” One other commenter said, “Just do it. You’ll make a whole lot of people VERY happy.”

It’s unclear when the new music will arrive. In a 2023 Kerrang! interview, Leto talked about the time between releases and its effect on their music, saying, “We average about four or five years [between albums]. We’ve made six albums in 25 years! Even our first album, when we got signed in ’98, we didn’t put the album out till 2004. Who does that?!”

The rocker continued, “We do take a long time. And the nice thing is, like, you change as the world change changes, your interests change. So, yeah, it’s a great way to reset everything. And if you’re not changing, I mean, that’s an interesting thing. Some visual artists look the same for their whole career, some change over the decades.”

It has been over two years since the band released their latest album, ‘It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day.’ “It feels as though experimentation was at the centre of this record, with digital soundbites and electronic instruments at the forefront of many of the tunes, yet still beautifully intertwined with the traditional line up,” Clash wrote about their album review at the time.

This summer, Thirty Seconds to Mars will play European shows, including festivals like Madrid’s Mad Cool.
