Jack White has seemingly released a new album, but it’s available only on vinyl at his Third Man Records stores in Nashville, Detroit, and London.
Third Man’s London Instagram stories said that the album is being given away for free with any purchase at the store on July 19 only. The vinyl label just says ‘No Name,’ and it comes in a plain sleeve in Jack White’s blue color and has the catalog number TMR-1000.
On the July 19 broadcast of WDET 101.9 FM, the host said of receiving the album:
“Right around where our studio is Third Man Records, just right across the street from us. It’s always so cool to have them as neighbors. They got the pressing plant over there selling a bunch of records. I went over there to do some shopping this morning because that’s just the level of music addiction that I have. I buy a record and they slip something into my bag, this white label just says ‘no name’ on it, a mystery record.”
He added:
“I’m thinking, ‘Okay, what could this be?’ You think about, like, Jack White, he’s kind of this Wily Wonka of music. Apparently from what I hear, if you go to Third Man Records, they’re up until 8:00 today, anything you buy, they’re going to slip one of these records in your bag. The same record that I got, this unmarked record that seems to be something really special. I’ve seen some speculation on the internet about what it could be, but I figured this is Detroit Public Radio this is live radio. This is me and you listening to this mystery record that they slipped in my bag at Third Man Records today for the very first time.”
Fans Figured Out It Was Jack White
On Jack White’s subreddit on Reddit, a post alerted fans to his new release following his 2022 albums. A fan shared a picture of the record with the following:
“Picked up a tee from Third Man Soho today and the guy on the tills put this in my bag too. I asked and thought maybe it was his demo or something but he didn’t seem to have a clue, saying he’d just been told by ‘management’ to give it out to customers. I’m not gonna have access to a record player until after work so curious to know if anyone else has seen this / it means anything to anyone? Maybe I’m overthinking the blue.”
The user’s guesses were right. Another user in the same thread confirmed visiting Third Man Records Nashville and said:
“I can totally confirm that is a new Jack White album. I gave it a listen and it’s pretty good.”

At the end of the day, the record store shared a post on their Instagram account about the vinyl. The caption said:
“Today you have proven that the quiet rumblings of something mysterious can grow into the beautiful experience of a community sharing the excitement and energy of music & art. See a recap of how the day went in our Instagram stories… and always stayed tuned.”
